What contractors ask before they apply
The questions we answer most often at the counter.
How long does approval take?
Usually two working days from receiving the form. If the credit check needs more information we'll ring you rather than let the application sit.
What are the payment terms?
30 days from the end of the month in which you're invoiced. We send one statement a month with every order, hire and workshop job on it, and take BACS or card.
Can I open an account as a sole trader?
Yes. Give us your UTR and trading address in place of a company number and we'll look at trading history instead. Starting limits are a little lower, and we raise them as the account runs.
How do I get trade prices on an order?
Quote the account when you order by phone or at the counter and the prices are applied before the invoice is raised. For web orders, add the account name and your PO number at checkout and we adjust the invoice to your rates before it's sent.
Can more than one person order on the account?
Yes. Tell us who is allowed to place orders and we'll note them on the account. Statements still go to the one named contact so nothing gets missed.
Can I use purchase order numbers?
Yes. Add one at checkout or give it over the phone and it appears against the order on the invoice and the statement, so your accounts team can match it.
