Calibration, servicing and repair of survey lasers, levels, total stations and cable avoidance tools, carried out on our own test range in Lincoln. Book it in, send it over, and it comes back accurate with the paperwork to prove it.

We calibrate and service all the major brands, whether or not we supplied the instrument. If it's not listed here, ring us and ask.

Self-levelling, grade and dual-slope rotators from Topcon, Spectra, Leica and Nedo, checked together with their receivers.

Grade and pipe lasers set and verified on the range at the percentages you actually work to.

Automatic and digital levels checked on the collimator and adjusted back to the maker's specification.

What a service includes
More than a quick check on the bench
Every instrument is stripped, cleaned and checked against the manufacturer's tolerance on our own test range before it goes back in the case. If we find a fault along the way, you get a repair price first and the choice whether to go ahead.

Drop it at the counter in North Hykeham, book an insured courier collection, or we'll pick it up on the van across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.

Strip, clean, calibrate
Each instrument is stripped, cleaned and set to the manufacturer's tolerance on the test range. Anything that needs a repair is priced before we touch it.

Certificate and return
Back to you with a dated certificate, normally within two working days. Next-day courier, or collect from the counter.

We log the service date and drop you a line a month before the certificate runs out. No chasing, no expired certificates on site.
Questions
What people ask before they book
The questions we answer most often at the counter.
How often should a laser or level be calibrated?
Most manufacturers recommend a check every twelve months, and sooner if the instrument has been dropped or is reading differently to a known level. Many main contractors will ask to see a certificate dated within the last year before the kit goes on site.
Do you service instruments you didn't supply?
Yes. We calibrate and repair all the major brands whoever sold them. Give us the make, model and serial number when you book and we'll tell you straight away if there's anything we can't do.
What happens if it needs a repair?
We ring you with a fixed price before doing anything beyond the service. If an instrument is beyond economic repair we'll say so, and we can usually offer a reconditioned replacement with a certificate and warranty.
Can I wait while it's done?
Often, yes. Book a slot ahead and most rotating lasers and levels can be checked and certified the same day while you wait. Total stations and anything needing parts take longer, so we'll give you a date when you book.
Will main contractors accept your certificate?
Each certificate is dated and serial-numbered, states the tolerance the instrument was checked to and is traceable to our reference equipment. We email a PDF copy as well as the paper one, so there's always a copy to hand for site inductions.
Do you calibrate CAT and Genny units?
Yes. Cable avoidance tools should be checked every twelve months and after any knock. We test function, sensitivity and locate accuracy on all makes and issue a certificate for the pair.
