Terms of service

These terms apply to every order placed with Recon Survey and Safety Ltd (company number 11247651), whether online, by phone or at the counter. Placing an order means you accept them.

Prices and VAT

Prices on the website are shown excluding VAT, which is added at checkout at the current UK rate. Prices can change without notice, but the price you see when you place an order is the price you pay. Obvious pricing errors may be corrected before dispatch; we will contact you before charging a different amount.

Orders and availability

An order is accepted when we dispatch the goods or confirm a collection date. Stock levels shown online are updated regularly but are not guaranteed; if an item is unavailable we will offer an alternative, a back-order date or a full refund.

Payment

Online orders are paid at checkout through our secure payment provider; we never see or store card details. Trade account customers may order on account subject to their agreed credit limit, with payment due 30 days from invoice date. Overdue accounts may be placed on hold and interest charged under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Delivery and risk

Delivery is covered by our shipping policy. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes when we have received payment in full.

Calibration, servicing and repairs

Calibration work is carried out to the manufacturer's published tolerances and a dated certificate is issued. Repair quotations are free; if you decline a quote a diagnostic fee may apply and the instrument is returned at your cost. Work is guaranteed for 12 months against the same fault. We are not responsible for data or settings stored on an instrument, so back them up before sending it in.

Hire

Hire equipment is supplied calibrated and in good working order and must be returned in the same condition. Hire charges run from the day of collection or delivery to the day of return. You are responsible for loss, theft or damage during the hire period unless it is covered by our optional damage waiver. A separate hire agreement is signed for each hire and takes precedence over these terms for that hire.

Reconditioned equipment

Reconditioned instruments are fully serviced, calibrated and supplied with a certificate and a 12-month warranty covering parts and labour on the same terms as our repair guarantee. Cosmetic wear is described on the product page and is not a warranty matter.

Warranty and liability

New equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty. Our liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the goods or service concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Returns

Returns are handled under our refund policy.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
